TARGET GROUP

Underprivileged high school graduates: In 2001, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child identified problems with the education system in Cameroon among which includes lack of access to formal and vocational education for disadvantaged children and high dropout rates. This scholarship targets this category of underprivileged youths in all the 10 regions of the country who are smart enough but are unable to afford quality education.

Women interested in pursuing a technology career: Women pursuing careers in science and technology in sub-Saharan Africa account for just 30% of professionals in the field according to a report from the UNESCO Institute for Statistics. In order to contribute to improving the narrative, we hope that through this scholarship initiative, we would encourage many more women to join the field of technology.
